Coach Whaley is a Certified Level II coach with the American Swimming Coaches Association and has been coaching Briarcrest Christian High School swim team for 12 years, has organized and coached for 11 years in the MTS high school swim program and coached age group with Memphis Tiger Swimming for 10 years. Also know as Mama Whaley, Christy has coached with the Gold, White and Red Groups.
Coach Whaley is an active coach with the Tennessee Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association and NISCA. She is a current Water Safety Instructor with the American Red Cross and has taught swimming for 36 years. Coach Whaley is also the Director of the University of Memphis Swim School for children and adults.
Coach Whaley has been teaching at Kirby High School for 12 years where she teaches 11th and 12th grade “Adult Living” and “Child Development” classes (Vocational Family and Consumer Science). She has her B.S. and M.S. in Family and Consumer Science Education with a minor in Science and 26 hours above her master's in Christian Education and Music. |
